The Kinkaku, Rokuon-ji (Golden Pavilion) The historic city of Kyoto brought us some relaxation and sightseeing. Our guide Mr. Mori helped us the first evening and we saw a couple of temples walking distance from our hotel, the Kyoto Tower Hotel, shown below.
We also enjoyed dinner with him (he read the menu for us and ordered everything). He gave us a good plan for the next day as we were on a self guided tour of the city using city buses.
The Kinkaku, Rokuon-ji (Golden Pavilion) was our favorite temple. The setting with a pond and the changing trees of fall made it an unforgettable, amazing wonder. The top photo is my favorite of the entire trip.
